We only make fitted sheets, so pillowcases and flat sheets are not included.

What grounding actually is

Grounding — also called earthing — connects you to the earth's electrical charge, the way standing barefoot on wet grass does. A grounding sheet does it indoors, using the ground pin in an ordinary wall outlet, which runs to a rod driven into the soil outside your house.

People who sleep grounded frequently report falling asleep more easily and waking less through the night. Some notice a difference in the first week; some notice nothing at all. The research is early and not settled, and we won't pretend otherwise — what we can tell you with total confidence is what's in the sheet and how it was made.

Setting it up

This replaces your fitted sheet. Put it straight onto the mattress, snap on the cord, and plug the cord into the ground port of a wall outlet. Don't put another sheet over it — skin contact is what does the work. Most outlets built since the 1960s are grounded, but if yours is an older house it's worth checking; email us and we'll talk you through it.

How long it lasts, honestly

The silver is woven in as conductive thread, not coated onto the surface, so it doesn't rub off or wash away. What does kill a grounding sheet — any grounding sheet — is fabric softener. It leaves a film that insulates the silver, and dryer sheets do the same. Hot water and high dryer heat finish the job.

So: cold wash, gentle cycle, no softener, no bleach, tumble low or line dry. Do that and the silver will outlast the fabric. We don't sell a conductivity warranty, and we'd rather say why than pretend — once a sheet has been washed hot with softener there's no honest way for anyone to tell it from a manufacturing fault, so a warranty on it would be a promise neither of us could check.

If it isn't for you, email us and we'll sort out an exchange, store credit, or a refund — in that order, because most of the time it's a size or a fit and we'd rather fix it than lose you. Used and washed is fine. Return postage is on you; everything else is on us. Arrives damaged or faulty? Send a photo within 30 days and we replace it, shipping both ways on us.

What the research shows

Grounding has been studied in peer-reviewed journals, and we would rather show you the work than make promises.

The strongest study to date is a double-blind randomized controlled trial. Sixteen massage therapists used grounding cords for six weeks, with inactive sham cords for part of that period and neither the participants nor the researchers knowing which was which. Pain scores fell from 8.2 to 5.8, physical function and energy rose, fatigue and low mood fell — and some of those effects were still measurable a month after the study ended (Chevalier, Patel, Weiss, Chopra & Mills, Explore, 2019).

In 2017, researchers at Penn State College of Medicine grounded 26 preterm infants in intensive care: skin voltage fell by roughly 95% and vagal tone — a marker of nervous-system regulation — rose by about 67% (Passi, Doheny, Gordin, Hinssen & Palmer, Neonatology, 2017). A 2004 study of people sleeping grounded found cortisol rhythms shifted toward a normal pattern (Ghaly & Teplitz, Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine). Randomized, placebo-controlled work has reported improved facial blood flow across 40 participants (Chevalier, 2014), and reduced blood viscosity after two hours of grounding (Chevalier, Sinatra, Oschman & Delany, 2013).
